The main motif is a highly desirable classic design of two phoenix and a dragon, mainly in red and blue, with a pale cream background. The main border has floral and botanical motifs on the outer edge.

This antique carpet has been restored in some places. There are some minor repairs to the outer edges, but the carpet is in excellent condition for a carpet that was woven and used around 125 years ago.
