Woven just over 120 years ago, this beautiful Chinese Pao Tao (Bao Tao) carpet has a wonderful use of colour and space. This is a particularly lovely example showing 3 vases with plants and flowers on a light beige field that is  beautifully executed. It is bordered by an indigo blue and beige border with clouds and floral pattern motifs. Baotou carpets are woven with landscapes and symbolic motifs in various nuances. This carpet features soft thick wool that is a real pleasure to sit and walk on.
