A Turkmen Chuval is a large storage bag, used for storing clothing in the tent and for transportation. The face of the bag, as here, is highly collectable and can have a kilim or pile surface. Often only the face survives, and can be used as a small size rug, hung on the wall for display or draped over a chair or sofa for decoration. Especially suited to small spaces, hallways etc. they make a sophisticated addition to interiors.
