Qashqai rugs, bags and kilims are hand-woven in the Fars province of south-west Persia (Iran) and are brought to market in the Capital city of Shiraz, near the ancient city of Persepolis. The Qashqa’itribes are particularly well known for their use of vibrant colours, achieved through high quality, hand spun wool using natural dyes. This example has a vibrant yellow border as well as an ivory-coloured ground surrounding the central Qashqai medallion, giving this bag-face a light and exciting feel.
