This piece is recommended for carpet collectors.
This Shirvan antique rug was carefully woven in the Southeast Caucasus (ancient Persia).
The cream colour main field is finely woven with flowers, each highlighted in detail with hints of colour and small design variations. four borders using traditional motifs from the Caucasus including flowers and representations of dragons in the S-shaped designs.
This antique carpet has been restored in places. There is some wear as can be seen from the pictures and the pile is evenly low. However, I think this adds charm to this very old antique carpet that was woven and used around 135 years ago, making it a beautiful, high quality carpet with a more tasteful appearance. can still be used on the floor or hung on a wall.
