Another example of expert weaving from the Shirvan region of the Caucasus. Woven art does not get much better than this rug featuring outstanding quality natural dye colours. The field shows an amazing range of animals, stars and flowers. The borders are also particularly attractive, reflecting the azure blue and yellow of the medallions.
